About Glencoe Farms

We are a multi-generational family farm proudly harvesting several crops including:

Grass

Our July is spent harvesting turf type grasses. This product is distributed throughout the United States and over seas. The grass in your favorite soccer field or park is most likely from a farm like ours in the Willamette Valley.

The straw that remains after the seed is harvested is baled, compressed and shipped to various countries in the Pacific Rim.

Wheat

Wheat is one of the foundation crops that built many farms in Oregon. It is mainly a rotation crop these days due to poor prices. Early August is wheat time, and although we don’t grow the acres we use to, it’s always a crop we look forward to harvesting.

Crimson Clover

Clovers are the bookends of our summer harvest. Late June we begin combining crimson clover. This crop is mainly used as a cover crop and soil builder. Many people notice the bright red fields blooming in May, guess what? It’s not red clover, its crimson clover.

Peonies

Peonies are our adventure crop. It started as a love of flowers and no idea of what we were doing. As the years have gone by we have figured out how to grow these amazing flowers. Our focus is on quality, not quantity. Each variety has its own personality and with over 50 on site our patrons always find a favorite. Unfortunately, we only get a short time with them. Beginning in early to mid May and ending in early June, it’s a quick season.

Red Clover

Red clover blooms in July and is a rosy pink color. We harvest red clover in late August and September. This seed is mainly used a a forage crop with much of it being exported to support livestock in other countries.

Hazelnuts

October is hazelnut time and is the last crop harvested on the farm each year. It’s always nice to get done before the fall rains hit. Oregon is known worldwide for the high quality nuts we produce.

In The Fall…

We do it all over again- here we are prepping the ground and planting!
