Planting Plants in Spring

________________

Potted plants can be planted in the spring or fall. Prepare your hole, mixing 1/2 cup dolomite (lime) into the hole is always a good idea. Take care not to disrupt the soil around your root! Plant carefully keeping the same depth that it is in the pot so that the eyes are no deeper than 2 inches. Peonies grow best in the ground but if you wish to keep in patio pots, use a large (10 or more gallon) pot. Make sure the pot has good drainage and remember to water more often than those in the ground.

See “Planting Roots in Fall” for care once in the ground.
